The media shouldn't be your bible for the truth. News are often distorted so be carefull, don't jump into conclusions especially when it concerns the church and the body of Christ.

I attended the just concluded shiloh 2007 encounter, it was glorious.
Im a christian by choice and i study my bible, i dont understand where a preacher who preaches about loving God, seek his face , New birth and all that could go wrong, as if these are not the very foundatioons of our faith.

I do wish that the time you use in condemning these people, you could have used it in helping 'the poor'

Shaza, i could not agree more with your comment. In the old days christians used to be the butt of jokes, today you have to be a bible-carrying christian before you can be accepted in society.

Perhaps the real emphasis is not on salvation but on the riches of this world that some think they can blackmail God into getting.

@ Stillwater: There is no such thing as a calling to preach prosperity/wealth. It is not listed in the gifts of the Spirit. Jesus did not say, go into the world and make disciples, telling them about the cars they can drive and the mansions they can buy if they sow a weekly seed of 77 dollars and 10 cents according to Psalm 77:10.

If you couldn't care less about them buying jets and condos, then that means you couldn't care less about them robbing the poor, which means you couldn't care less about the poor. If you couldn't care less about the poor, whom you see, then how could you care about God, whom you don't see?

How is it that in this day and age, it's actually COOL to be a Christian? Is it not strange that the world is so in love with Jesus nowadays? Why is it that whatever quack product can sell, if only someone puts the name "Holy" or "Jesus" on it? Why is there such a huge difference between the church of today and the church of Acts? Don't conclude matters before you search the Word of God.

they r humans and we tend to get greedy at times regardless of what u r

I'm not against pastors owning the world and I'm a Jesus freak, but the main focus of christianity is to actually win souls.
I also believe each person is given a particular gift in the kingdom of God. It could be ministering in songs, evangelism, preaching prosperity/wealth. Buut attimes these pastors tend to forget the basis of Christ's teachings.
