Its everywhere; our bookstores, cable TV, newspapers, flyers . . .
The merchants have taken over the temple of God. The temple of prayer is now full of men selling miracle manna, prayer cloths, miracles, books, tapes and psychology books. They tell us we can simply ask for anything and get it . . . they forget to add James reminder about asking amiss. they tell us the christian has no business being sick, forgeting that even timothy needed medicine for his stomach.
All we here are "dreams, visions and aspirations" that have more to do with creating a culture of covetousness than a deepened desire for God's kingdom.
The merchants have errected huge temples to themselves, they fly private jets, their children are in the best schools in foreign countries . . . yet they tell us we are poor because we have little faith.
Churches everywhere yet the Lord's people are starving for the true word of faith. Prayer has been replaced by demands for miracles, more money and yet more money. Messages that once convicted souls unto repentance have given way to motivational speeches and spiritually empty psychobabble.
1000 ways to retain your healing, 67 ways to get your dream car, 890 ways to increase your faith . . . please can someone show me where this exists in the bible or do i need to update my King James version?
they collect our tithes and offerings, they tax us with building offerings to build schools we cannot afford, they coerce us into offering free labour with carefully distorted bits of scripture . . . they whip us into a frenzy of spiritual delusion with sweet words and false hopes . . . when we dare ask questions they immediately admonish to "judge not".
- 2 Tim 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Brethren, indeed we are in the last days.
